Today's Walking Journal includes a botanical sketch of a plant I don't know the name of. But it was so pretty I had to stop to sketch it. I scanned the pencil sketch and reworked it in Paint Shop Pro, adding the colors.

It grew about 3' tall, the flowers bloomed from the bottom up (like foxgloves). Colors ranged from deep burgundy sepials to pale fuchia petals on the flowers, getting deeper as they aged. Bright yellow stamens and gray-green foliage completed the color palette.

That's a good idea, sketching and then scanning and working with it on an imaging program.
